Picking

This is an area in which ABB services a multitude of installations, covering a host of different products, applications and packaging line set-ups. These include frozen food, bakery and confectionary as well as ice-cream, meat and fish, cheese, pet food, medical products, shampoo and perfume bottles. Able to achieve a staggering 150 picking cycles per minute, the IRB 340 FlexPicker is our star performer in this area. For full 6-axis flexibility, less demanding cycle times and payloads of up to 5 kg, we recommend our IRB 140.

Packing

Packing This area is all about packing a variety of items into boxes. It includes robot-based case packing - smaller boxes packed into larger ones, and racetrack packing - many items picked simultaneously with the aid of grippers. In this respect ABB's new 4-axis IRB 260 is ideal for most applications not demanding full 6-axis versatility. It also features an impressive 30 kg payload capacity. You have a choice of standard 6-axis robots depending on the conditions of each application. Furthermore, ABB's unique vision-aided conveyor tracking facilitates continuous production flows and packing on the fly.

Palletizing

Placing boxes, trays, bags, bottles or other items on a pallet seems easy enough. However, when you need to meet the most rigorous demands in terms of box patterns, stability, precision and cycle time, nothing compares to robot-based automation. Our new IRB 660 has the versatility, reach and handling capacity needed for the most palletizing applications. And for even greater payload requirements, our large, standard 6-axis robots are built to handle as much as 650 kg.
