EQUIPMENT – PRIMARY PACKAGING

Since 1929 Cloud Packaging Equipment has been providing packaging solutions for the Horizontal Form Fill & Seal (HFFS) industry. Since inventing the first high-speed, continuous-motion HFFS pouching machine, Cloud continues to set the standard for the high-speed pouch packaging industry. Cloud also has a wealth of operational and production experience derived from our own contract packaging facilities. This experience is reflected in the functional and ergonomic designs that are integral to all of our packaging systems.

Flexible Filler Features

Blending can be accomplished right at the filler by feeding multiple components into the same pouch. Alternate flavor fill is also possible with the capability of filling a different product in successive pouches. Taking alternate fill a step further, asymmetrical pouches can be filled with significantly different products and volumes. Pouches as wide as 6 ½” can be paired with a pouch as narrow as 2 ½”, subject to evaluation.

Soluble Film Technology

PVA continuous motion drum technology is used to form water soluble materials (polyvinyl alcohol) at speeds in excess of 1000 pouches per minute. Thermoforming the bottom film results in material savings typically 30 to 40 percent above a traditional vertical form fill seal machine. Liquid and powder filling capabilities are available.

Filter Pack

Patented method of continuous motion, forming porous media into pockets, then filling and sealing with top porous media at speeds in excess of 1000 units per minute. Filled pouches can be cut into unusual shapes and collated into multiple count groups or patterns. Very high efficiencies and tight weight control.

Thermoforming

Heat-formed shapes of styrene with high-speed drum technology and accurate filling. Paper or foil lid application and die-cut separation in the range of 1000 units per minute. Typical products are powdered creamers, drink mixes, and spices.

Film Capabilities

EQUIPMENT – SECONDARY PACKAGING

Festooning

Our festooning system fanfolds a continuous bandoleer of pouches from a Cloud Packaging Solutions pouch machine into totes. The festooner provides the flexibility to de-couple pouch- making from downstream collation and secondary packaging. A single pouch machine using a festooner can support multiple cartoners or can be used to assemble multiple flavor multipacks.

Cumulus Conveyor System

Cloud Packaging Solutions’ Cumulus conveyor system separates the pouch machine and the remote knife resulting in higher efficiencies. The Cumulus conveyor provides a buffer, allowing short stops on one piece of machinery without grossly affecting production on the other.

Cloud Knife Systems

The Cloud Packaging Solutions multi-bladed rotary concept effortlessly aligns, holds and cuts at high-speed and is also able to remove unwanted pouches. Typical knife configurations allow collations of direct drop to cartoner, accurate exact count patterns, or perforated multistrips.

Display Carton Loader (DCL)

The DCL system can load pouches into single or multi-facing cartons in single or perforated multi-pouch formats.

Semi-Auto Carton Filling

Hand-erected cartons or cases are placed in transports and automatically filled with pouches collated by a Cloud high-speed knife. Exact counts, perforated strips, and a variety of other collations are possible.
