Digital Design manufactures a complete line-up of coding and marking equipment. From small and large character ink jet printers to high resolution large character printers, a transport system for bottom coding applications to a series of contact style reciprocating imprinters, Digital Design has the answer to your coding and marking needs.

Our small character product line includes the Genesis and Econo-Jet printers. Genesis is a NEMA 4 rated system that is perfect for applications where water washdowns are required. The Genesis controller allows the user to enter or change messages and to set all of the message parameters such as line speed, print delay, character height and more. It also allows control of an unlimited number of print stations due to it's infra-red download capability.

The Econo-Jet is a full featured small character printer, but without the NEMA 4, networking or infra-red abilities of the Genesis unit. This means that the Econo-Jet is an even more affordable alternative for your ink jet applications. Both the Genesis and Econo-Jet printers are available in one line or two line models and can be used as either a side coding or top coding system. If your requirement calls for bottom coding your product, please consider our optional M400 Transport System.

The M400 Transport System easily fits into your production line. The Genesis or Econo-Jet printers can be ordered with bracketry that mounts directly into the M400. We also have bracketry that can be used with competitive ink jet systems.

Our large character printers range from the NEW EVOLUTION I high resolution ink jet to our 4 models of valve based dot matrix printers. The EVOLUTION I is a high resolution printer that has been designed by Digital Design and powered by Hewlett Packard printhead technology. It features one or two line printing at 150dpi at speeds up to 200 feet per minute.

The Genesis dot matrix large character printers offer a variety of character heights and number of lines per printhead depending on which of the 4 models is right for you. Character heights range from 1/2" up to 1 3/4" with up to 3 lines of print, again depending on model. The standard units are capable of running at 100 feet per minute, and a high speed option is available that increases the speed to 150 feet per minute. All of the valve based dot matrix printers are available with either a water based ink for porous substrates or an alcohol based ink for non-porous materials.

The R250 line of reciprocating imprinters also offers 4 models to choose from. They are standard as an elecro-pneumatic unit requiring 110VAC and 60psi. Models are available with print areas ranging from 1/2" x 1" all the way up to a 2" x 4" print area.

EVOLUTION I The Lowest Cost High Resolution Printer Available!

EVOLUTION I is a high resolution ink jet printer designed and manufactured by Digital Design in Cedar Grove, NJ. EVOLUTION is powered by ink jet technology by Hewlett Packard. This combinatin gives you the benefits of an affordable, compact and efficient design coupled with the reliability of printhead technology by HP.

EVOLUTION I is complete and ready to install right out of the box. The system includes the mounting bracketry, a hand held controller with tactile style keypad for message entry and the printhead module with internal product sensor built in.

A print resolution of 300dpi at productin speeds of up to 200 feet per mintue gives you bold, highly legible and fully formed characters.

EVOLUTION was designed to be the lowest cost system available. In it's basic form it is a direct repalcement for contact style roller coders printing simple product identification onto corrugated cartons. However the addition of optional software enhancements take EVOLUTION from a simple system to one that rivals much higher priced hi-res large character printers meant for secondary carton coding, as well as a viable alternative to small character DOD, continuous ink jet and laser printers.

Econo-Jet

Econo-Jet

The Econo-Jet is a complete small character ink jet printing system in an affordable, compact package. Models are available to print in either one or two lines of text. A four line LCD panel displays message entry or editing in either English or Spanish and give the user a clear visual reference of the programming sequence and finished message. The Econo-Jet can utilize any of the over 20 different ink formulations available in the Genesis ink line. This gives you the flexibility to print on a wide variety of substrates including plastics, metals, glass, chipboard and more. Pigmented inks in white, light blue and orange make it easy to print onto both light and dark colored materials. Please check our ink chart for a complete listing of inks and colors. The inks are all alcohol based. Being alcohol based, they are environmentally friendly, and once the ink in the cartridge is depleted, it is easy to dispose of.

The Econo-Jet produces crisp, clear codes on various product shapes and substrates. Font selection with the Econo-Jet is as easy as pressing the font key on the keypad. Three different character heights are available. The printhead used on the Econo-Jet is completely serviceable by the end user. It can be taken apart, cleaned and re-assembled in a period of 20 minutes or less.

GENESIS TwinLine

Features of the TwinLine small character ink jet printer include: print heads have no moving parts; independently active print heads; active ink management system (AIMS); easy to enter data; infrared data entry hand held controller; NEMA 4, IP 66 rating on print station; non MEK inks; all colors, including opaque white; up to 1/8" (3.2mm) character height; production line speeds to 250 fpm (76 mpm); automatic date, time and sequence counter; 32 character message length per print head (96 character optional); 25 message storage (50 optional); 6 languages on board, more available; system is delivered ready to be installed by you.

Large Character

The Genesis SingleLine large character ink jet system is the perfect companion to the small character printer. Simple to install, cost effective, easy to own. The Large Character Product Line consists of the SingleLine Large Character, TwinLine Large Character Triline Large Character and VariLine Large Character models. Important features of the GENESIS large character systems include: very compact size with all the features that you expect; four configurations available; everything is included for almost instant installation and operation; all at a very competitive price; largest 'no mess' ink cartridge in the industry.

Inks

Digital Design's Genesis products offer a complete range of inks. We offer the entire spectrum of colors, including invisible UV readable. If your application requires a special ink, our chemists can formulate an ink to meet your requirements. Remember, if you send us your products, we will print on them with the proper ink and return them promptly. A broad view of the ink range for the Econo-Jet, SingleLine and TwinLine small character systems is: A variety of over 20 ink formulations including USDA to match most substrates. Available in a variety of colors including pigmented white, light blue and orange.

M400 Transport Bottom Coding System

Digital Design's M400 Transport System has been a standard in the packaging industry for years and fits easily into any production line. The M400 also facilitates the mounting of most Ink Jet printers to satisfy all your non-contact needs. Production speeds are variable up to 200 feet per minute and a conveniently located motor speed control allows the unit to match line speeds exactly. Changeover from one container size to another is accomplished via independently adjustable transport belts. Having been designed and engineered to handle varied sizes and shapes, the M400 adapts to a number of unusual imprinting requirements.

R250 Series Imprinting Machines

The R250 Series reciprocating imprinters are compact, electro-pneumatic imprinting modules that are designed for installation on cappers, labelers, bag makers, form/fill/seal machines or other intermittent and automatic equipment. All R250 Series models are mechanically synchronized by the motion of the parent machine, providing precise printing registration. In addition, the R250 Series is designed to accommodate printing speeds up to 200 cycles per minute.

Kits are available to convert coders of other manufacturers (Kiwi, Teko, and Algene) to adapt the Codarc® Ink Cartridge. Codarc® Ink Cartridges fit all Omniprint coders, and can be adapted for use with all other coders in use, regardless of make. Codarc® Ink Cartridges can be reinked several times or discarded after initial charge is spent. Bulk inks are available from Digital Design Inc.

Inks and Type

Base-Lock® Rubber Type - all Digital Design Omniprint coding and marking equipment can use quick change Base-Lock® Rubber Type. Simplicity of design lets the user rapidly set copy requirements with any combination of individual letters and numbers, called sorts, and/or a variety of characters, including art work, which are cast in one piece logotypes.
